70% of Gen Z and Millennials report emotional factors as a significant influence in their buying decisions.

Functional Factor

60% of young consumers consider functionality, such as durability and utility, when purchasing clothing.

The respondents provided a variety of reasons that would motivate them to purchase fewer clothes and instead make better use of their existing wardrobe.

They expressed a desire for more creative ideas for outfits. By having a wider array of potential combinations with their current clothes, they believed they could reduce their need for new purchases.

Better organization system for their clothes could potentially minimize the perceived need for new items. With a proper organization system, they could easily see all their clothing options and therefore feel less compelled to buy more.

The potential for financial savings was a strong incentive to buy less. They recognized that by reducing their clothing purchases, they could save a significant amount of money, which could then be used for other purposes or saved for the future.
